The Rewards Of Using Homemade Bath Salts

Every time I went to the market store, I would see an entire aisle of bath products including colorful bath salts. Eye-candy as they were to me, I would simply look but not touch. Who actually uses bath salts at home? I hadn’t a clue on what they really were, and what they were for. Just no plain idea on what good they would do me.

Fortunately for me, I took to my curiosity and researched on mother nature’s ways of pampering my well-being including aromatherapy. And boy did I land on a gold mine of information! Who knew that my circulation would be so much better after rubbing in some homemade bath salts onto my skin? And who knew that this effect was first attained by stepping into a hot spring or a natural mineral bath? It is as if all of the epsom and dead sea salt were harvested just to help me exfoliate my skin. And who knew that the aromatherapy’s natural benefit of smelling so good be healthy for me?

And who knew that I would be able to treat my pimples a lot better by exfoliating all my pores from head to toe with these homemade bath salts? All the scrubbing to open up the pores, to free the dirt and sweat to be washed away. So great! I am imagining how rejuvenated my entire skin will be after all the unpleasantness is purged and removed. If I were to be this close to getting pimples on my face and back, I would be confident to know that the homemade bath salts would be the perfect assistance.

The added benefit of using homemade bath salts are not just revolving around cleanliness, but also with disinfecting properties, too. You can apply rubbing these epson bath salts to the skin when it is afflicted with Athlete’s Foot or eczema, or when you have some type of skin infection (or a rash). This can also be used to treat bug bites, too.

We won’t stop there, because there’s more! I’ve been talking about all of the abilities that homemade bath salts can do externally, but what is also great is what they can do internally. If you have any tension in your muscles, you can massage the salts into your arms. I am sure that you must have experienced muscle tenderness at least once in your life.

You yourself can also relax when you breathe in the lovely-smelling scents from the essential oils used to mix in with the homemade bath salts. You will find your mood lighten, your stress lift, and your well-being feeling that much better as you breathe in the Bergamot and Ylang Ylang oils.

If you stay in the bath long enough, be careful as your fingers will lose water and look like raisins. There’s only so much that the Epsom bath salts can do, as they do adjust the composition of the bath water and create a protective layer on the skin so that water does not enter or leave too much.

You can only imagine how much fantastic you will feel knowing that you made these bath salts right at home, where you got to choose what scents, what colors, and what beautiful jar you put the salts into. All those health and beauty benefits in one small jar.

Sydney Garrett loves homemade bath salts and probably has a lifetime supply of salt scrub ingredients for life.

Scars Are One Of The Few Things Whose Appearance Usually Improves With Aging

The natural result of the body’s attempt to heal an open wound or tear in the surface of the skin or body tissues is a scar. Every person forms scars, and scars are always resulting from surgical incisions or trauma which goes all the way to the deeper layers of skin and sometimes the structures. In fact, a scar will result from any type of procedure. There is no such thing as a procedure that does not leave a scar, regardless of what is advertised or hyped.

Unfortunately for some, the body’s healing may result in the formation of scars that are unsightly or that cause unwanted symptoms such as pain or tightness. The surgery or scar revision involves the removal of the offending scar and its replacement with an improved surrounding soft tissue or skin. This can allow for the scar to be camouflaged and minimized in a much more aesthetic and functional way.

Scars are one of the few things that will improve with age. Scars that are often unsightly, thickened scars at first can become thinner and virtually unnoticeable over time. Scars will typically undergo several stages of healing. An incision or scar that has been carefully closed will usually have a small amount of bruising and swelling over the first several days after the procedure or injury. Sutures will then be removed, if necessary, and healing or the would and scar production will begin. The body will bring in natural building blocks such as collagen to the area of the would which will allow for the area of the scar to be bridged and sealed.

Every scar will appear to become more lumpy and red at first. This process will take somewhere between two and six weeks. Between the fourth and eighth weeks, the scar will appear much redder and wider than it initially did. This will usually be when the scar looks it’s worst, and is a natural part of the process of healing. The scar will usually remain reddened for about one to six months after this. After that as the fibers, collagen, and scar organizes and progressively matures, the scar tends to contract down and eventually flatten out. The color of the scar will become less red and then begin to take on the appearance and color of the tissue surrounding it. The scar will then slowly fade with time.

Scar revision is typically a safe cosmetic surgery procedure. The cosmetic surgeon doesn’t need to perform a major procedure, so it doesn’t do much damage. Most of the time the procedure can be performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting. The healing process is usually rapid and the procedures and the recovery are usually not very painful. Risks will usually include infection, pain, bleeding, and damage to the nerves and vessels.

What Are Glycolic Acid Products?

Shown to be effective for dealing with skin problems, glycolic acid products have become popular these days. They come in many formulations, such as skin moisturizers and lotions, skin exfoliators, anti-aging creams and soaps, and facial cleansers.

So, what is glycolic acid? It belongs to the group of chemicals known as alpha-hydroxy acids, or fruit acids, which are known for their skin improving qualities. It is extracted from sugar cane and, since glycolic acid is a natural organic acid, it has been considered one of the best skin treatments available.

It has been used for revitalizing skin, moisturizing, and reducing signs of aging. To maximize its beneficial effects, it can be combined with products containing vitamin A and C, which have also been proven beneficial to the skin.

Although the beneficial effects of glycolic acid as treatment for acne and other skin conditions are proven, the details on how this substance works are still being studied. Based on studies, here are the major beneficial effects of this acid…

- It helps improve the skin appearance by eliminating fine lines and wrinkles.

- It increases skin moisture by 300% when it is applied twice daily for three weeks.

- It penetrates into the skin to help improve the proper flow of blood, which results in fresher looking skin.

- It much more effective than other regular lotions and gels for treating sun damaged skin.

- When used mixed with with skin bleaching products, it helps lighten the skin.

- It has been proven to help treat acne problems and, when mixed with salicylic acid, it is more effective in treating acne than products containing 10% benzoyl peroxide.

Should the glycolic acid content of a product be too little, there may well not be any noticeable effects. However, too much acid content can lead to skin damage.

High concentrations of glycolic acid are even used for degreasing and rust removal. Concentrations of more than 70% are extremely damaging. In fact, the government considers products with concentrations of above 10% to be ‘hazardous’.

As it is acid based, manufacturers of products with glycolic acid recognize that their products have to be neutralized so as prevent skin becoming irritated. Glycolic acid treatments, thus, have to be performed by dermatologists if the treatment involves 10%- 20% concentration of glycolic acid.

Even So, proven to be really effective in improving the skin when used appropriately, glycolic acid products have occupied a prominent space on the cosmetics market.

To look younger, is everyone’s hearts desire. But wrinkles stop a person from looking young, revealing the fact that he is older. As old age shows itself, the human body requires the right amount of nutrients. If these essential nutrients and vitamins are not supplied in the right proportion, the body shows tell tale signs of aging in the form of wrinkles.

A proper and well balanced diet and level of nutrition, balances the skin. A wrinkle is a distinctive shape of skin on the face, which is mostly caused due to old age, and/or improper intake of nutrients. This loosely held skin, known as wrinkles, tend to spoil the general appearance of ones face.

Today, people don’t have enough time for themselves, thus they are unable to pay proper attention towards their skin or their body. A young person has more fat cells as compared to an old person. As a person ages, the number of fat cells in the skin decrease, the skin however continues to grow and sags, thus forming wrinkles.

Daily routines and stresses such as responsibilities & work related tensions, take a toll on the body, with a result the body gets tired and ages. This aging shows on the skin in the form of wrinkles. The skin looses its firmness and tends to sag.

In response to the movement of facial joints during activities like chewing, the face muscles move and tend to subject the facial skin to expansion and contraction, thus causing wrinkling. A less tedious schedule in combination with proper recreation will give your facial skin proper space to revitalize.

Various creams and lotions are available to help curb the aging process. Sunscreen is commonly used to reduce aging of the skin and thus helps in prevention of wrinkles. Cleansers are available to keep the skin clean and reduce any type of irritations on the skin. Moisturizers are available to help you get rid of any unevenness in the skin and also help in firming up the skin. AHAs (fruit acids or Alpha Hydroxyl) help keep the skin in shape and give a shine to the face. Facial exercises are quite beneficial to help curb the formation of wrinkles.

Scientific research tells us that the rate, at which skin cells renew themselves at young age, slows down with age. This results in uneven and greasy looking skin. Also, due to the decreased water holding capacity of the skin, it loses its plumpness, resulting in wrinkles.

While wrinkles are a natural phenomenon and they will happen eventually, we do have at our disposal a number of remedies at hand that can help curb the development of these wrinkles. All this is possible thanks to the growth and development in medical science. A number of companies have come out with various products that contain DNA and RNA, that are beneficial in combating the growth of wrinkles and delaying the ageing process. Natural proteins such as collagen and elastin are also used widely as they help in rejuvenating the skin. Ceramides are also used to help hydrate the skin, and prevent it from shriveling up due to dryness.

Using a Wrinkle Cream Can Be Very Effective

None of us are ready to accept the lifelong struggle against aging, but it is real, it’s going to happen … aging, that is.We can sit back and do nothing, or we can act, now.Our options are many, but our first port of call should be an effective wrinkle cream.Distinguishing between all the dozens of various brands on offer, is not so easy though, so take your time and do some evaluating.

First, you have to recognize that most of them will help in some way to make you feel better about those encroaching wrinkles. Some of them will do absolutely nothing about the problem and a few will work wonders. Unfortunately there is no magic list about which is which because so many of the products work for some and not for others. It’s worth your effort to explore the options.

After you have carried out some investigation, try some small samples of a few that seem to meet your needs. The Internet is an excellent place to start your research, but with the vast amount of information on offer, it can be overpowering – so put a plan together.Select products that seem to be suitable for people with a similar skin type to yours, and then purchase some samples.

When you begin this period of testing, you’ll quickly realise how important it is, and experimenting is critical and can be frustrating as well as rewarding. Some of the test samples that you have chosen will fail completely, while others might work initially, but not later on.This trial and error process is necessary in order that you uncover the wrinkle cream that seems best suited to you.It is vitally important that you remain committed to your skin regime, once you have identified the product or group of products that give you the best results.

You have to be disciplined enough to understand that this skin care plan needs your attention every day.No more so, than with wrinkle cream, it needs daily application, sometimes twice daily, morning and evening.

If you want results from your wrinkle cream you must accept that it isn’t going to work if you use it once in a while. Friday night is not the time to address the issue. Every day, it has to be a part of your daily regimen, like brushing your teeth. Stick to your plan and you will see results over time.

If you’re not getting the results you desire, be prepared to make any changes necessary along the way, to achieve the results you crave for.Remaining loyal is great, but only if the benefits are forthcoming.Should no further improvement become apparent, you may need to change direction, and move on to the next product and begin testing it.

Nevertheless, if you are benefiting from using a product, then don’t be tempted to change it.It’s taken you time and money to find a winner, now persevere and keep using it.

Breast Enhancement Fall-outs

Getting a breast enhancement procedure exposes you to dangers such as breast-feeding difficulties or implant leakage. Thus, it is necessary to understand these common risks and side-effects to better prepare you on what to do.

Quite a number of patients who have tried breast enhancement successfully breast feed. However, there is still a possibility that it will interfere with the breast feeding process. Before going through the surgery, consult your surgeon about this. Sometimes, breast enhancement results to a loss of sensation in the nipple and breast area. This loss of sensation, which results from damaged nerve endings, may be temporary or permanent. The outcome would depend upon the breast enhancement technique applied by your surgeon.

Another potential risk of getting breast enhancement procedures are the leaking of the breast implant materials into the surrounding breast tissue. To decrease the probability of leaking, make sure that the implant material that will be applied is approved by the FDA. Implants may also burst or rupture over time. Usually, ruptures occur when there is extreme compression or injury to the breast. It may also be due to the natural aging of the implant. Sometimes, it is mammography itself that constricts the breast implant, thereby inducing it to break.

The worst risk in breast enhancement lies in its inference of breast cancer detection. Breast enhancement implants may cover breast tumors during mammography or ultrasound. For patients with breast enhancement, additional views and special imaging are necessary during breast examination. The “Eklund displacement views” helps maximize the visibility of the breast tissue to better detect tumors.

Before undergoing a breast enhancement surgery, it is recommended to discuss the possible side effects with your chosen licensed surgeon who has adequate experience in breast enhancement. Ensure that the surgeon will inform you of everything you need to know about the procedure and its consequences.
