7 Things You Need to Know About Paying for Your Wedding

Face it. Wedding days are one of the worst money-draining events of all time. In fact, a lot of people are forced from riches to rags on their newly married life. This is because few people really invest practically on weddings. This guide intends to warn you of the seven spending disasters you should avoid when planning your wedding. Knowing these disasters will pay off well for you and your lifetime partner.

Working within a Budget

Never plan a wedding without a budget. Know what you need to spend on. Even more important is to enumerate your source of funds. If your family is helping out, you may be able to reduce the amount of cash youre shelling out from your own pocket. Dont be overconfident with outside help though. Just draw a feasible estimate you intend to work around ” nothing more, nothing less.

Letting Credit Cards Move Things for You

You have several options for payment when you are purchasing items and services for your wedding. However, it is often best to pay with your credit card. Sometimes you’ll find that paying in cash can get you in trouble, especially if the company goes under before you receive your goods. Most credit cards have policies that will ensure you get your money back.

No Priorities

While you want to literally buy every accessory and detail that will make your dream wedding come alive, you only have a limited budget to work around. List down the things you want according to priorities. Its best that you get all of the basic necessities instead of ending up short on cash with an impartial number of accessories.

Paper Trailing the Estimates

If you intend to get the shock of your life, just hire a few professionals to your wedding day, and ask for a quote on their professional fees right after the event. The problem with oral agreements is that they cant let you keep track of your budget. Some professionals might take advantage of your generosity and overcharge you because you failed to get the estimates in writing. Stay safe with documented and written agreements.

Avoid Going into Debt to Pay for the Wedding

Wedding loans are your speed ticket to credit card debt. Do you want to spend the rest of your married life paying off such debt? If you dont, then avoid applying for a wedding loan at all costs. Make the necessary adjustments in your wedding preparation so you wont have to work beyond your budget. For starters, try crashing off a few names in your guest list.

Whole-Town Invites

Every head that gets invited to your big day will eat up a chunk of your budget. Youre expected to pay for each ones drinks, food and party favors. Decide whose names will be in your invitation list. A handful of carefully selected friends and family members are a lot better than a big crowd of acquaintances.

Great Advantages to Paying for Your Own Wedding

Although you may have offers to help pay for the wedding from mom and dad or other family members, there are many advantages to paying for your wedding yourself. Paying for the wedding on your own insures that you are in control and you can say no to unwanted advice as well.

A How-To Guide For Golden Retriever Training

June 20, 2009 by Andyl Hannerl · Leave a Comment

There are so many reasons why Golden retrievers are consistently known to be the one of the most popular choices as family pets today. They are known to be very playful and very friendly and making it the best choice for kids of all ages. They are also very eager to please and are quite bright making the Golden retriever training worth the effort and time to train a dog how to behave well.

However, Golden retriever training can also be time consuming and frustrating at times for the dog owner and the dog alike. These tips will guide you through training your Golden retriever puppy so you end up with a dog the entire family can enjoy.

Housebroken

First thing that you should teach your dog in Golden retriever training is teaching your dog the best place to do number one or number two. Most dog owners would want to have their dogs learn to potty outside their house, and this can be successful by using a crate.

Not only will crates be a positive tool in guiding your pup to learn to manage his bladder and bowels but crates can also provide a comfortable and safe place for your dogs to sleep in. A lot of dogs are not at ease in going to the bathroom the same place where they sleep so by keeping your pup in their crates for periods of time, he will be able to hold his urges until he gets outside. Once he is used to doing his business at a proper place, make sure you give him an abundant amount of praise to strengthen the Golden retriever training.

Chewing and Biting

A dog would commonly use their mouths to check out the world around them. However, it is not okay for dogs to use their mouths when playing with their owners. One of the essential points in Golden retriever training is teaching your dogs that using their mouth to nip or bite is unacceptable when playing with you or any member of the family. The usual thing that Golden retrievers do is chew on the nearest object whether its your favorite shoe or his favorite toy.

Dogs who are not given ample attention or who are left to their own devices for many hours during the day are more likely to get destructive with their chewing habit. The best way to cure your pup of this bad habit is to provide plenty of appropriate toys to chew on. Make sure he also understands to leave your living room sofa and shoe wardrobe alone.

Training golden retrievers is far from possible, but be aware that it will also take time and patience for you to succeed in this training. Even though Golden retrievers are intellectual and are happy to please, they have such high energy that can make training challenging as it would be hard to keep their attention while in training.

What you can do is to keep your sessions sweet and short and filled with lots of positive reinforcement and praises whenever possible way that you can. The consequence will be a well behaved dog that will surely be a delight for your family for a long time.

Mind Your P’s & Q’s With The Correct Etiquette Needed for Today’s Dinner Party Entertaining!

June 20, 2009 by Kathy Baldwin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Family

Gone are the days of calling cards, when as a proper lady you gave your calling card to the butler so that he in turn could give it to the lady of the house. Gentlemen on the other hand used their calling cards as silent expressions of the reason for their visit.

In those days, people would be properly announced when entering the home of the host and hostess of a dinner party. Gone too, are the Victorian dinner party etiquette manuals for hosting or attending such a dinner. Granted, those days had butlers and one spoke delicately about domestic solicitude, and when the servers took away plates and such, they moved as if they were wearing soft ballet shoes, so light was their touch and attitude as they moved noiselessly about. Guests on the other hand basically pretended that the domestics were not even there.

Today we no longer place any importance on the pretentiousness and rules that came with the Victorian era. It is much more important to make sure that all of the guests and the hosts are relaxed and comfortable, easily enjoying the food and company that the host has lovingly prepared with their own hands. Etiquette is just as important as it was during the olden days but are we as prepared as our ancestors as to what those rules are?

Sending out a dinner party invitation used to mean that it had to be engraved, and accepting one meant that you RSVPd back in writing as well. Today, it is still not quite good etiquette to send a dinner party invitation via email, though it seems as if even this custom is dwindling.

It was customary to dress in your finest during Victorian times, but now, many dinner party invitations now stipulate a more relaxed atmosphere and may say that it is casual dress. We have retained, though, the etiquette that one should never dress in a manner that one ups ones host or hostess.

Good manners, also means that an invitation to a dinner party usually requires that you will give the hosts a small gift, such as flowers, or wine. Too, you will show up on time, not overly early, nor any later than ten minutes or so. Men should still seat their lady. Good manners also dictate that you use your napkin properly, and allowing the hosts to begin the meal by unfolding their napkin still signals that the meal has begun.

Men should still stand when a lady leaves the table, and in todays cellular society, it is customary to turn cell phones off during dinnertime. It is exceedingly bad manners to take calls at the hosts table. Excuse yourself and take the call in private if its necessary to take a call at all.

Hosts should prepare in advance for the special dietary requirements of their guests. It is recommended that while you are inviting your guests that you inquire into everyone’s special diet requirements and personal tastes. It is so much better to address this issue early in the planning process rather than be surprised at the last minute. Should an unexpected food requirement arise during the dinner party, graciously address the situation to the best of your ability but do not feel that you need to cook an entire new meal at the last minute. The consumption of alcohol is not only a social etiquette issue but it also crosses moral and legal issues. Be careful not to over consume nor let your guests.

It is normal for people to make a mistake on social etiquette rules from time to time. When mistakes occur it is best not to not make a big deal about them. If you are the person making the mistake it is best to immediately apologize for your blunder and then do your best to move onward. If you are host noticing a blunder of one of your guests, it is imperative that control the situation as best as you can and allow the mistake to addressed at another time. Unless the error is a behavior issue that is affecting your other guests, then as the host it is your responsibility to correctly address and correct the problem. Recognizing and working within the current social etiquette rules will make your social calendar soar and disregarding of them will be the key to your social loneliness.

Is It True Hockey Still A Major Sport?

June 20, 2009 by Denise I Smithson · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Recreation and Sports

Hockey was once one of the four major American sports. The big four were the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League. But yet, even as some in those group dominate the others (the NFL dominates all sports in terms of popularity), the NHL has not been able to really keep up with the others.

However, hockey as dropped off the list of major sports. Right now, NASCAR racing is likely more popular with the general public than NHL hockey. Once one of the most important sports in the US, hockey is now seemingly shut out of the top tier looking in.

How did this happen to the NHL? Was it the entire season that was lost to the lockout that did this? No, that wasn’t the reason, that lost year to the lockout was actually a symptom of the problem itself. The lockout was held because salaries were getting out of control and many franchises, outside of the most popular ones such as the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings, simply could not afford to keep paying as much to their players as they were.

As any fan who lives in a city with a NHL franchise knows, declining ticket sales aren’t the cause of NHL franchises’ slumping revenues; games continue to be well attended and eagerly looked forward to. The reason for the lower revenue has to do with broadcast rights, a significant source of income for the NHL. Hockey is simply less popular as a televised sport than it once was.

While the lockout wasn’t in itself the cause of the NHL’s problems, it certainly didn’t help. When hockey returned to television in the 2005-2006 season, ESPN passed on the broadcast rights for NHL games. OLN (now known as Versus) picked up the broadcast rights – this network has a much smaller reach than ESPN and correspondingly shallower pockets. As a result, the NHL continues to have financial difficulties and many hockey fans are unable to receive NHL games at all, something that does not bode well for the NHL’s ability to recapture the attention of sports fans.

There is also the problem that many fans think that hockey is a sport which doesn’t lend itself well to the medium of television. Fans prefer to watch hockey games in person; and NHL games are often sold out. However, hockey fans think that some of the speed and the finesse of the sport are lacking in televised games. Sadly, this has led to hockey being harder and harder to watch at all and there are a lot of people who may never know just what they’re missing.

Therefore the answer to the question is that no, hockey is no longer one of the major sports in this country. It has lost it’s place in that upper echelon, and is struggling for a strategy to get back. It needs to find a way to make its television games more exciting, while also getting those games aired in a spot where more people can view them. Until both of those happen it may be hard for the NHL to regain the spotlight it once had.

The 4 Things That A Good Workers Compensation Lawyer Can Do For You

June 20, 2009 by Bartt Iccles · Leave a Comment

All companies, especially those companies whose workers are doing high-risk jobs, should have a workers compensation lawyer. This is because injuries in the workplace are unavoidable, and to save everyone the headache, it is the workers compensation lawyer’s job to tidy up everything on the legal side.

Under the law, all employers should have a workers compensation insurance policy which will ensure compensation to workers who gets injured while working. It is a requirement by all states. Period. This ensures that in the event that a worker will become injured to the point of being disabled, his or her family will have ample finances to get by.

This insurance policy is a lot more complex than its description, as the law is. It can also be confusing and can cause a lot of anxiety on the victim as well as the employer alike. To be able to protect yourself and to be assured that you will be able to get what is due to you if ever (knock on wood) the unfortunate happens to you, you should be able to get ahold of a good workers compensation lawyer and get help from him or her.

Here are the things that you will be able to benefit from when you get a workers compensation lawyer to help you in case you become injured when performing your job:

1. A good workers compensation lawyer will be able to make sure that you are able to file your claim within the allotted time. Yes, in order for a claim to be valid, it is required that you notify your employer within the allotted time required for the claim to be validated otherwise your claim might be denied.

2. A good workers compensation lawyer will be able to make sure that all the documents necessary in order for you to be able to file your claim is in place. He or she will be able to save you from the hassle of not being able to provide all pertinent documents and the risk of, again, being denied.

3. A good workers compensation lawyer will be able to help you maximize the benefits that you will be getting from your workers compensation insurance policy. At times and depending on your case, you may be eligible for disability claim with your social security system and, at the same time, be able to claim your benefits from the workers compensation insurance policy that you have. Your lawyer will be able to help you with both.

4. A good workers compensation lawyer will be able to speed up the process of filing your claims to ensure that you get them in no time at all. This will give you the security of having the means to sustain your and your family’s day to day needs.

Having a workers compensation insurance policy is your right under the law. But oftentimes, a problem or two will arise when you try to claim it. Have a good workers compensation lawyer help you and be assured that you will be able to get through the hurdle in no time at all.

Let’s Start Writing Your First Information Product

June 20, 2009 by ftsgetexback · Leave a Comment

Let’s start writing your first information product.

Make a list of the things that you do or like to do. Whether it’s your job, a hobby you enjoy, or caring for children or pets. Remember that things which we often take for granted or overlook because we do them on a constant basis may be something the market wants to know. Once again do your due research for demand and supply as mentioned above.

Look over the list you just created and choose a subject from it.

Here are a few example topics that might give you some starting ideas:

** Effective Marketing For Small Businesses
** Organic Gardening
** Japanese Bonsai Tree Growing and Care
** Low-Fat Dessert Recipes
** Delicious Italian Recipes
** Working with Leather
** Buying a Car with No Credit or Bad Credit
** Fly Fishing for Beginners
** Pit Bulls as Pets: A Positive Experience
** Choosing A Name For Your Dog
** Home-Made Cat Treat Recipes
** Having an Iguana as a Family Pet
** Being a Better Parent
** Making the Most Out Of Every Day
** Hot Air Ballooning
** Bird Watching For the Family
** Model Airplane Construction
** Coin and Currency Collecting
** Knitting, Crocheting, Sewing
** How to Play Football
** Learning to Play Tennis like A Pro
** Proper Car Tune Up Instructions
** Easy SAT Study Guide For College Students
** Carpet Laying For Dummies
** How to Build Your Own Tranquil Outdoor Garden Sanctuary

The more you narrow down your topic, the more specific the niche category will be and the less competition you’ll have.

Pretty much any topic or subject can be turned into a profitable information product if you put the effort into it.

You don’t have to have any knowledge about one particular subject, as you could always do research on the topic and create the product as you go along (more on this later).

Once you have your choice topic selected, it’s time to begin really writing it up.

Now don’t be afraid. This is easier than you might think. The way to write an information product is to write it as if you are explaining the subject to someone who has no previous knowledge of it or has never heard of what you are talking about.

Go from beginning to end. Leave out nothing, no matter how small the detail. Remember, most of the people that purchase your information product will be new to the whole process of your subject matter.

You would want to create an ‘outline’ for your product. I’ll show you how in the following pages.

Don’t be worried about the length of your product. There are more important things to be concerned with than something as trivial as length. Believe me, there are marketers out there selling 5-15 page reports like hotcakes.

This is because they have something unique to share. They also focus on the way in which they provide the information to their customers, making sure it’s good useful information. People pay for useful information not the length of the product.

Always remember to be as original as you can be. A good way to do that is to write like you speak. Doing so will also make the task of writing a LOT easier for you.
